IMPACT
Through bilingual workshops, cultural exchange activities, and interactive learning, participants improved their English proficiency while building confidence, leadership, and civic awareness. The program successfully created opportunities for Serbian and Albanian youth to connect, learn together, and lay the groundwork for long-term social cohesion.






NEW YEAR/CHRISTMAS ACTIVITY 2024
To close out the year, Access Program students organized a special end-of-year celebration for the youngest members of their community. The event was filled with creativity, joy, and laughter, as students guided children in crafting New Year decorations and participated in fun games together.
This heartwarming day highlighted the students’ role as mentors and community leaders, fostering connection, collaboration, and the spirit of giving. Through their efforts, students created lasting memories and reinforced the sense of community, creativity, and shared celebration that defines the Access Program.






THANKSGIVING DINNER CELEBRATION
In November, Access Program students from Crkvena Vodica/Caravodicë and Janjevo organized a Thanksgiving celebration. Students led the planning and implementation of the event, which brought together peers from different communities.
Through creative activities, shared messages of gratitude, and warm social interaction participating in all stages of the event, the students demonstrated initiative, teamwork, and a strong sense of community, highlighting the importance of youth-led activities in building inclusive and respectful environments.

Discovering Traditional Crafts in Gjakovë /Đakovica, Kosovo
Access students were excited and curious, not knowing where they were going or what to expect eager to discover new skills and experiences in Gjakovë /Đakovica.
They explored traditional crafts and had the unique opportunity to visit and be part of the workshop, learning the art of creating clay items and traditional pottery. This enriching experience not only taught practical skills but also connected students with the rich cultural heritage of the region.






SUMMER CAMP ONE THE OF MOST POPULAR ACTIVITIES
From August 23rd to 26th, Access students from Obiliq/Obilić (Crkvena Vodica), Janjevo, Zubin Potok, and Kamenica, together with Alumni from Leposavić, gathered in Brezovica for an American-style Summer Camp organized in collaboration with KETNET.
The camp brought together students from multiple communities for three days of immersive learning, teamwork, creativity, and fun. Participants engaged in team challenges, cultural exchanges, discussions, and practical sessions that strengthened both their skills and friendships. A particularly popular activity was the First Aid and sports training provided by American soldiers, while additional workshops were led by Peace Corps volunteers and staff from the American Advising Center.
Access Program students from Zubin Potok, and Çabra/Cabra together with their access friends from Obiliq/Obilić, Crkvena Vodica and Janjevo visited Prishtina and participated in a joint recreational activity aimed at strengthening peer connection and teamwork.
The students spent the day together enjoying bowling and arcade games in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. The activity successfully fostered interaction among students from different sites, encouraged bonding, and created a positive and memorable shared experience.

In April, to welcome the arrival of spring, Access students, together with their teachers and guest speakers, organized a series of outdoor activities. These included interactive sessions and creative workshops designed to encourage students to explore, appreciate, and care for their surroundings. Through these events, students collaborated, reflected, and connected with nature in a meaningful and responsible way..

COMPUTER CLASSES
Regular informatics classes have been organized for all students to enhance their skills in various areas, including video editing, Word and Excel usage, presentation preparation, and poster and brochure design.
These sessions help students gain confidence with technology, develop problem-solving abilities, and prepare for future academic and career opportunities in a digital world.
Access Program students from Zubin Potok and Çabër/Çabra had an unforgettable experience visiting a bear reserve near Pristina. Surrounded by breathtaking nature, students engaged in outdoor activities, sports, and team-building exercises, enjoying the opportunity to socialize and strengthen friendships.
The day fostered not only personal growth but also lasting bonds among students from different communities, reflecting the core values of teamwork, mutual respect, and intercultural engagement promoted by the program.

A DAY OF ADVENTURE AT THE BEAR RESERVE






During their visit, they spent time with participants to hear first-hand impressions about the program and the summer camp, learning how students experienced their summer camp activities. They also listened to the students’ views, wishes, and needs, gaining valuable insights into their hopes and aspirations.
The visit provided an opportunity for the officers to become more familiar with the students and the Access Program overall, strengthening the connection between the Embassy and youth from the region.
U.S. EMBASSY OFFICIALS VISIT ACCESS PROGRAM STUDENTS
Access students from Crkvena Vodica (Obiliq/Obilić municipality) and Janjevo had the opportunity to meet Fulbright English Teaching Assistants Joshua and Mary, whose involvement significantly contributed to the final phase of the program.
Joshua talked about California, presenting iconic cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. He shared interesting insights about California’s lifestyle, cuisine, diverse landscapes, and notable personalities, helping students imagine what life is like on the West Coast of the U.S.
Mary introduced students to Montana, emphasizing its distinctive geography and the presence of Native American reservations. She described her own teaching experiences in Montana and provided a meaningful overview of Native American culture, traditions, and everyday community life.

fUN ACTIVITIES-CINEPLEX VISIT
Access Program students enjoyed a special visit to Cineplexx, where they watched Zootopia as part of an enrichment and socialization activity.
More than just a movie, this experience encouraged students to reflect on inclusion, stereotypes, teamwork, and mutual respect values that strongly connect with the Access Program’s mission.
Sharing laughter, ideas, and time together outside the classroom helped strengthen friendships, build confidence, and create a sense of belonging among students from diverse backgrounds.
Learning continues beyond the classroom and moments like these make it meaningful.
